FIELD NOTES
Useful context. Clear choices. Better journeys.
Start with the hardest day
Pack for the coldest, wettest, or most active part of your itinerary, then build simple layers around it. Shoes should match what you will actually do.
Use the five-day rule
For trips longer than a week, pack roughly five days of clothing and plan to wash. A smaller bag makes stairs, ferries, buses, and spontaneous route changes much easier.
